Our community has been so amazing at supporting us. Complete strangers have made such an effort to help us through this hard time. It is so humbling. Makes me want to be a better person :-) This is the group from Just One More! This was our first time meeting (most of) these awesome people. They drove all the way to the hospital yesterday afternoon just to meet us and Michael. And then they rode back home to have a night of fundraising for our family.
The moral to this part of the story is, be nice to people. Try your best to reach out and help people because you truly never know how much just a single act of kindness does. You don't have to know someone to help them. Thank you to everyone who came out to the hospital, thank you to everyone who donated and everyone who participated in the dart tournament for Michael. You guys are so awesome!
Michael has had a pretty good few days. His blank stare is starting to be less blank and more purposeful the last few days. You can see him looking AT people and things. This is so encouraging. Hopefully he will be moving to rehab sometime tomorrow.
We also started giving him time with his glasses on to see if that helps any and it does seem to help.
Keep praying for him. He is doing so freaking good. Still going slow but that is okay!
Oh also DCF is closing up their file on us....guess we are proven ourselves to be good parents...haha.
